7 Life Languages™
As a practice-oriented communication model, Life Languages™ distinguishes seven communication styles, that filter communication differently. Each Life Language™ has its own unique characteristics and a bias for action, feeling, or thinking. characteristics and tends to lead to either action, feeling, or thinking. Everyone has a unique combination of all seven communication styles.
This character-based tool helps individuals better understand themselves and others, so that everyone feels accepted, heard, and valued. While many tools only contain a description of one's own personality and leave it open how to bridge communication gaps in everyday life, Life Languages™ goes a step further: It is both descriptive and instructional, providing concrete recommendations for action.
Life Languages™ was developed over 40 years ago by Fred and Anna Kendall, based on their extensive experience in psychology, communication, and organizational development, and has been continuously refined since then. It is used worldwide in a wide range of contexts — wherever communication plays a central role — regardless of cultural or religious backgrounds or professional sectors.
